Okay, yes. I did just redesign this site less than a year ago.But things have changed a lot for me since then. As we approach the 10 year anniversary of PvP, I’ve done a bit of re-evaluating. I’m trying to plan out the next 10 years of PvP’s life as best I can. Ironically, I think the best way to move forward is by looking back. For me, the next 10 years is about getting back to basics and refocusing on what got PvP this far: you.

You guys are the reason that PvP is still here after a decade, going strong. I need to remind myself to consider from time to time, how does this serve the reader? Which brings us to this site re-design.

I’m proud of my work on Webcomics Weekly and our new book How to Make Webcomics. Starting that podcast, and working on this book is the smartest thing I’ve done in a long time. It feels good. Feels like we’re fostering something good. In your emails, you let us know how our work is inspires you to make your own webcomics. Know that you’re feedback is equally as inspiring. You inspire us to heed our own advise and lead through example.

Which leads me to this site re-design.

This is version 7.0 of our website and it was build with Wordpress, a popular blogging system. Wordpress is free of charge and installs easily on most servers with little effort. Comicpress is a theme for Wordpress designed specifically for Webcartoonists by Tyler Martin. Tyler was kind enough to help me modify the theme a bit to fit my design. By doing so, he taught me that with a little css knowledge, it’s possible to make Comicpress to work for almost any site design. The Comicpress site has a great support forum where you can talk with other Comicpress users.

I’m excited about Wordpress and the Comicpress theme. I want to be able to say that PvPonline.com runs on a framework that any aspiring Webcartoonist can use themselves. Brad Guigar has coined a phrase on our show: “It works for me, it’ll work for you.” That’s become the spirit of our podcast and the message we want to send to everyone else out there with a dream to make their own webcomics.

So, fingers crossed, everyone. It’s been a while since I built my own website. I had a lot of help from Wordpress and Tyler. Please let me know, via email, if anything breaks or gets buggy.
