Episode 12 is delayed due to the animators being off for the holidays. Ryan says that we should have it wrapped up in a couple weeks. This will mark the final episode of the season and the end of our big Christmas special. Next is to start work on the DVD. I’ll be flying out to L.A. sometime in the next month or two to record some audio commentaries with the cast. Kris and I are going to try to get some really great extras on the DVD for you.

A lot of you didn’t subscribe in lieu of waiting for the DVD. You people are kind of the future of the series. Everything is in somewhat of a holding pattern waiting to see how DVD sales go to determine how we march forward. Despite how happy and proud we are of the series, and how happy our existing subscribers are with their purchase, I don’t want Blind Ferret investing more money into a second season until we’re sure they’re going to get their money’s worth out of it. Maybe creating longer animations and selling them on DVD is a better business model for my readers. I know that Ryan, Randy and the guys are BFE are thinking outside the box and considering all kinds of different business models for all their animations. We’ll have to wait and see.

2007 was a year of grand experiments for PVP as a business and the Animated Series was one of those grand experiments. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have these twelve episodes under our belts. It’s really something to be proud of. You guys should be proud too, because you made it happen. Your support allowed us to do this. So please continue to show your support when the DVD comes out and we can make more animations for you.

More on the DVD and what’s next for PvP: The Series in the coming months, so stay tuned.

Odds and ends you guys should know about:

  1. Kris and I will be attending the Dallas Comicon this weekend. The show is at the Richardson civic center (aka “The Hallway of forgotten comic book artists”) on Saturday and Sunday. If you’re in the area, we expect to see you there.
  2. Our first Webcomics Weekly of the new year is posted. I’ve started messing with a program that levels out our voices so hopefully audio quality is much better this time around.
  3. I am waiting on a fresh stock of tee shirts for the PvP Store. Grey Scratch, Han, Joss and Panda shirts are being made and will be in stock the 3rd week of January. The tee shirt guys assures me that they will get to me that week. I will be shipping out non-stop until all orders are processed once they arrive. So if you ordered a Joss, Han or Panda shirt you will have them by month’s end. We appreciate your patience on this. Now that the holidays have passed and we’ve gotten to know our screen printers better, turn-around on shirts will not be this painful in the future.
  4. Xbox Live has a new pack of PvP Gamerpics and Themes for sale. Is Xbox live up again? Pending live actually being LIVE, you should go download them. I’ve added in the requested secondary characters as well as some bad-ass versions and Superhero alter-ego’s. You might even see some other familiar faces to dress up your profile.

That’s all for now. More as it happens.

Thought I would make it easier for everyone to listen to the first Webcomics Weekly of the new year.
