We just got word from Image today: How to Make Webcomics will be available in the next 4-5 weeks. Pre-order sales for the book are higher than any previous book I’ve published through Image. But these pre-order numbers only cover sales to comic shops and bookstore chains. We also need to tell Image how many to print for us to sell to you guys DIRECTLY! So we’re putting the book on pre-order today.

What does “pre-order” mean? It basically means that the book can be purchased right now, and that your order will ship as soon as that first print-run comes off the presses. If you’re thinking about purchasing a copy, I’d ask that you do it in this pre-order period, as it will help our printing/delivery logistics immensely. Also, buying your copy direct from the four of us means a higher percentage to the authors. Just sayin’. :)

This book is the perfect how-to for the next generation of cartoonists who are looking to bring their art online. For years, young, creative men and women have dreamed about making a living from their comic strips. But their only avenue for success was through the slowly dying medium of newspapers. Now, more and more cartoonists are doing it on their own and self-publishing their comics on the Web. This is the book for the new generation of artists.

You can pick it up at any of our stores, but if you want the PvP version you can get the book in both “signed” and “artist edition” flavors.

Thanks guys. We’re really proud of this one! ORDER NOW!!

It’s been a long time that people have been asking me to make a tee shirt with nothing BUT the PvP logo on it. And for some reason I’ve resisted the idea for a long time despite the demand. Kris and I were discussing it the other day and we both agreed it feels a bit pretentious. But he put his hand on gently on my arm and in a very confident and reassuring tone, said “You’re ready. It’s time.”

Based on some recommendations from other Webcomic guys, I’m testing out a new printer that does custom stuff. For the PvP logo shirt we went with an oversized print across the chest with a vintaging process applied to it. This means the printing is thinner and less over-stated with a very soft feel to it.

The shirts are on PRE-ORDER right now, but they will be shipping to me in 7-10 days. So expect them to ship out to you in 2 weeks. We have them in both Chico and Chica styles. Take a gander
