So you may have noticed that we’ve jiggled the site layout just a tad.

There’s been a renewed interest in advertising on PvP from both large and small clients and sponsors. We want to accommodate everyone while keeping things aesthetically pleasing and balanced. I talked to a couple other site owners of the Webcomics persuasion to get their options and enlisted the help of ComicPress Guru Tyler Martin to rearrange our columns a bit.

A lot of sponsors with smaller budgets have approached me about sponsoring PvP and getting some link love. I’ve been sending them Google’s way to take advantage of our adsense pageviews, but it’s not a favored solution. A lot of people are excited about Project Wonderful and enjoy using the service. So I’ve added some PW ad spots as a test bed to see how they do for people. I’ve run PW before on internal pages, but never on the front page this close to the fold. I have no idea how well they’ll perform or how fast bidding might go above people’s budgets.

I’m going to be creating a page about how I earn money on the site for those of you in the “How to Make Webcomics” camp. It’ll be companion errata for the new book (which, incidentally hits shelves TOMORROW). There are a lot of services out there you guys should know about that do well and are easy to implement on your own sites.

As always, please let me know if you find anything broken or fritzy.
