As a cartoonist, it’s rare that you get on paper exactly what you saw in your head when you started drawing.

Today I had one of those days. After catching up on PvP strips I decided to try my hand at coming up with an image for a project my wife is working on for Cape. We want to have some special “thank you” wedding cards to give out to fans as if they had attended Brent and Jade’s wedding.

I told Angela I would come up with an image for the card, something simple, that she could easily print out at work.

Then I got some photos from Angela in email from 1996. Photos my sister-in-law took of Angela trying on her dress at my parents house before our own wedding. I needed these photos for reference for the strip, but one in particular really struck me as strikingly beautiful and I decided I would try to recreate it with Jade in the place of my own blushing bride.

This is the image that will appear on our thank you cards. We’re scrapping simple and going with a little more work to make something classy. We’ll make enough to give out at both Cape and Emerald City Comicon. If there is enough demand or interest, I am happy to make prints out of this. Just let me know.
