Okay. Yesterday I attempted to make a blog post while out of the office from my iPhone. Bad idea. The article I wrote (as important as I felt it was) was so riddled with grammatical errors and fragmented sentences that it caused one reader to take PvP off their homepage. It also earned me a stern email from my dad. Now that I’m at a keyboard, let me try again.

Ted Rall, current president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists wrote a letter concerning editorial cartoonist Brian Duffy and the Des Moines Register. Short version: Brian Duffy was fired from his position and the Register is hanging on to all of his original artwork. They want to donate it all to the University of Iowa.

While the position the Register is taking seems a noble gesture on the surface, some people (including myself) feel strongly that the paper should at least allow Brian Duffy to retain a portionof his original artwork. Even Marvel comics gave Jack Kirby some of his originals back.

If you share this opinion and wish to let the Register know how you feel, they have a contact page on their website.
