It’s been exciting to receive emails from PvP readers who got their Scratch Maquettes in the mail. We’ve only had a few people with broken pieces due to either a manufacturing error or a careless mailman.

The Maquette is not one solid piece, but four pieces packed in foam. It’s done this way specifically to prevent over-breakage in shipping. But that means there’s a little bit of assembly required once you get your statue.

One thing that’s popped up however is that I think some people are accidentally breaking their statues by trying to force the wrench into Scratch’s hands in the wrong direction.

If you look at the box, the wrench is meant to sit in scratches hands behind his back, as if he’s preparing for a swing. Although it doesn’t matter of the opening of the wrench faces towards or away from his back, it does matter that it fits in from the back of scratch, small end going up.

I’ve gotten a couple pictures from people who are sticking the wrench in the other way and I’m terrified they’re going to break off a thumb. So FYI. Look at the picture on the box, and make sure the wrench goes in the right way.

Also be careful not to replace the wrench with other objects that may not fit.
