At the beginning of the year I wanted to experiment with the idea of offering extra paid content using a service known as Assetbar. Encouraged by Assetbar’s success over at Achewood.com, I decided it couldn’t hurt to try.

During that time, Assetbar has been a fun experiment. Fans paid $1.99 a month for access to the fanflow where they could talk and comment on extra content I posted there. To date, Assetbar has raised $1,170.97, all of which is going to be donated to the Mike Wieringo Scholarship at SCAD in the name of the PvP Fanclub. So thanks to everyone who participated in our experiment. It’s been fun but I will no longer be updating the PvP fanflow. We raised some money for a good cause, and it was a worthwhile look into the merits of a paid content system. I want to thank everyone who participated.

Moving forward, let me remind everyone that everything we did inside Assetbar is now happening over at the PvP Facebook page. Please join us, we’re building quite a fun little community there.

This weekend is the Baltimore Comicon and my last show of the 2009 convention season. What a show to end on.

The entire Halfpixel crew will be there. Our book “How to Make Webcomics” is up for a Harvey Award, of which I’m MCing the awards dinner banquet. Crazy fun!

I’ll be set up at the Image Comics Megabooth. Dave, Kris and Brad won’t be too far away in the Halfpixel booth. Be sure to come by and see us. We’ll be selling books and plushes and signing and sketching.

It’s always a good time.
