Okay, I want to win a Harvey Award.

This year is probably my 4th or 5th nomination for Best Online Comic and I never win. In fact, I usually encourage people to vote for more qualified nominees. But not this year. I want to win this year. I’ve put in my time. I’ve attended the awards and lost. I’ve MCed once and will be returning to host again this year. I’ve earned my Harvey, right? It’s a Kurtzman award for chrissakes. My NAME is IN the award.

Anyway, this is the final week to vote for the Harvey Awards. Ballots are available at Harveyawards.org. You can download a pdf or even just copy and paste a text ballot to send to the Harvey’s via email.

Voting is limited to professionals in the comic industry or professional creatives that relate to the industry. I was instructed last year to encourage people to vote if they think they qualify since all ballots are counted by people and they can look and see if you’re joshing.

So vote. Vote for me. Vote for Skull.

PvPstuff.com has a couple new items in it. Items you may want to purchase and enjoy in the privacy of your own home or even your own toilet. Volume 8 of our collected dead-tree comic strips is available for shipping to your house immediately. Aptly titled “The Cat is Plotting My Death”, our latest tome collects all of the strips from 2008.

We also have put the Desktop Icons vinyl toys on pre-order. These sold great at the San Diego Comicon and we now have a third paint available for purchase. Skull the Troll, The Giant Panda and The LOLbat are all paint variants in limited supply. Once they’re gone, we’ll never make them quite the same again. These three paints represent series 1 of our new line and we couldn’t be more proud of how they turned out.

The toys stands around 4.5 inches tall, are made of vinyl and have ONE POINT OF AMAZING ARTICULATION. The head spins around. Seriously, you can move the head. My buddy Andy is really into vinyl and he gave these the seal of approval. He told me he was looking for seams and couldn’t find any. I guess that’s important to vinyl nerds like Andy. I was pleased anway.

More designs are on the way in the future. I’m also toying (get it) with the idea of having an art showing where I invite people to paint blanks in support of Child’s Play. More on that as we get closer. Regardless, I’m super excited about these and am really looking forward to more paints and body shapes. Vinyl is really cool.
