I think it was December of 2005 that Kringus made his first appearance at PvP. Back then he was just a doucher cat in a Christmas tree.

Every year since then, I’ve put that cat back in that tree. Mostly because there are a lot of you out there who like to email the phrase “DAWWWW! JUST LIKE MY CAT!” to me and I want to sell you books. I know which side my bread is buttered on and you people want cats in Christmas trees every year. I’m here to serve.

But I had an idea in 2007 to make Kringus a part of some goofy Christmas prophecy. That Kringus was this anti-spirit-of-Christmas that Scratch took up. And if he could defeat Santa, Christmas law would demand that Santa give all his Christmas secrets to Scratch. So I ran with that and it’s become an annual thing.

Now, a good writer would end this meme after a couple of years. And that’s what I planned last year when freaking NEAL ADAMS helped me draw the final epic fight between Santa and Kringus. A battle which ended in the removal of Santa’s Brain.

I want to be a good writer. I do. But there are still people out there who want me to put a cat in a tree every Christmas. And I still want to sell those people books. And I started to think about this stupid meme I had created. And that made me think about LOLbat, the Meme-based Superhero. And then I thought about how Santa is kinda like the ultimate meme that parents have kept going year after year.

So anyway…at least ONE more year of Kringus. And if you were unfamiliar with his exploits, now you have some back-story.
