Let me tell you about Doug TenNapel.

In the latest episode of Webcomics Weekly we discuss the concept of what the term “cartoonist” really means. How far you can push that term and what different people thinks it means.

I’m not sure we came to any real conclusion on the subject, but I can tell you this: Doug TenNapel is definitely my idea of a cartoonist. He created Earthworm Jim. He’s written and drawn 10 graphic novels and he doesn’t seem to be running out of ideas any time soon. He’s prolific, he’s talented, and he can create magic with a brush and an inkwell.

And Doug, he’s got a really open mind. After watching Ethan Nicolle “tear the internet apart with AXECOP” he decided he wanted to take a stab at webcomics too. And so he has. By launching his newest creation Ratfist.

Ratfist is a long form comic book. It’s Zany, and fun and the artwork is dynamic and engaging. To have someone like Doug take a shot at webcomics is a leg up for anyone who uses that term to describe what they do. We need more talent like Doug trying this new model out. And we need more people like YOU reading it.

So head over to Ratfist.com and get to know Webcomic’s newest superhero. And if you’re unfamiliar with Doug’s work, you need to hit Amazon and check out his books. (My personal favorite is Creature Tech).

Welcome to Webcomics, Doug. You’ve just raised the bar for all of us again.
