An occupational hazard of working at the Penny Arcade offices is that there’s always a film crew watching what you do. It’s something I was terrified about at first, but now have grown quite comfortable with. Honestly, it’s only lead to good things, and nothing was more fun than when Kris and I got to do our own episode of PA the series entitled “The Takeover.”

Since then, the guys at Vantage Point Productions, who actually film and produce the PA series have been bugging Kris and I about the possibilities of producing our own show. About us. But Kris and I have been reticent to do so for a couple of reasons.

For one, producing a series like this is expensive. It’s not just two guys working in Flash with cheap microphones like we do with the Blamimations. Cameras, editing, production, sound mixing and DVD production, that all costs real money. It seemed like a big gamble.

But since then, demand for Kris and I to have our own show on PATV has increased. We were hounded about it at PAX East. And the idea of something like that working, suddenly didn’t seem too crazy. And Vantage Point wasn’t giving up on the idea. If anything, the reaction to our episode, the Blams and our PAX appearances only strengthened their resolve that this was a good idea.

Vantage Point offered to film a pilot episode for us, if we agreed to let them put up a kickstarter page in order to fund the project. Best case scenario, the series gets funded, everyone who donated gets to see the show and some awesome rewards for their generous patronage and everyone is happy. Worse case, nobody’s out anything and we had fun shooting a pilot.

So we said okay and Vantage Point worked with us to come up with some pretty exciting rewards. Backers can receive everything from a DVD of the show to Kris and I flying out to have dinner with you. You can check it all out at the show’s official Kickstarter Page.

Kris pointed out that if everyone who watches the Blams donated one buck, Vantage Point would make their funding easy. So hopefully this is a no brainer. We’ll be talking more about the show as we go along. Please take a look and help finance their project. We can’t do it without your help.
